Leanach Cottage

Leanach Cottage is a historic thatched-roof building located on the grounds of Culloden Battlefield in the Scottish Highlands. 🏡 Historical Significance Believed to have been constructed in the early 18th century, Leanach Cottage is one of the last remaining examples of a single-storey thatched building once common in the region. During the Battle of Culloden on April 16, 1746, the cottage was situated between the government and Jacobite lines and is thought to have served as a field hospital for the government troops .
